‘A funny, romantic and gloriously escapist read.’ Marian Keyes

Striking Poses by Kate ThompsonWhen you're burdened with the name of a goddess and your mother's a flamboyant actress, the last thing you want is a career in the limelight. So Aphrodite Delaney opts for a job backstage, grafting as a stylist on clingfilm commercials, a forlorn Cinderella with no invite to the ball until - ping! - the handsome prince of Irish fashion, Troy MacNally, appears centre stage.

Suddenly this Cinderella is snowed under with fairy-tale threads, invites to the ball - and the spotlight’s right in her face. But there are big bad wolves and spiteful pixies lurking in the darkness. Pitted against the bitchiest of witches, Aphrodite develops a rare flair for wickedness herself...

From the number one bestselling author of The Blue Hour comes a modern-day fairy story - a tale of love, sex, revenge and intrigue set in the glittering demi-monde of the Irish fashion world.

I have just finished reading Striking Poses and have to say that I absolutely loved it. Your description of the 'movers and shakers' or should I say, those who would consider themselves thus, is brilliant.  Definitely the Emperor's New Clothes with a vengeance.
I have also read The Blue Hour and again, thanks for a wonderful read. Keep up the good work - I am now going to track down your other books.

Hi! I'm sending this all the way from India and I've just finished reading Striking Poses. It's the first one I've read and I absolutely loved it and can't wait to read a few more. I love the fact that it is based in Ireland because we find very few books that aren't penned by US authors. I think you're really great and maybe even better than the other Irish authors I've read. Looking forward to more of your books.

Subject: WOW
Have just finished Striking Poses and I think it is amazing.
Congratulations. The characters were brilliant and so different from one another. I have recommended it to all my friends too. When is the next book out? I can't wait because I adore your style of writing. I can truly escape in your books.

When I noticed your website address in the back of Striking Poses I was so pleased, because I could finally tell you what a fantastic writer you are and how much my friends and I appreciate your novels. It is true what Marian Keyes stated, Striking Poses along with all five of your other books are 'sublimely addictive', they provide a world away from all the pressures of college and every day life where one can relax and read and become so involved with the characters that you feel you are part of their little 'gangs.'
Anyway I just wanted to email you and thank you for bringing so many hours of enjoyment through your writing, I absolutely adore your books and cannot wait for your latest to come out. Good luck with all your future projects and I have my fingers crossed that Rory and Deirdre make more appearances in future books.

Just finished Striking Poses on my lunchtime break - devastated to have turned the last page.  Thoroughly enjoyed the book.  Can't wait to get the others. Well done and keep going!

I've just finished reading Striking Poses, it's the first book of yours that I've read. BRILLIANT. Didn't want to put it down. I can't wait now to start on the others. It was only by chance that I got the book. I forgot to send back the card from my book club cancelling the choice of the month. So they sent it to me. I decided not to send it back. Thank goodness.
Thank you. It's now on my 'favourite' shelf with all the Marian Keyes novels.

How in the name of God can I possibly expect an e-mail to convey my excitement unless of course I use lot of !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can honestly say haven’t read any book since The Blue Hour that kept my interest as much. I finished The Blue Hour thinking it couldn’t get any better than this, but when you start reading Striking Poses you are immediately engrossed. I’m glad I’m not one of those people who reads a book in one evening (it has been known to happen though), I like to savour it and pace it which doesn’t take away from the ‘I couldn’t put it down’! Ok so I may sound like I’m waffling but I know what I mean!

I've read a couple of your books already and I really enjoyed them,  They were 'unputdownable', as some people describe books. I’ve finished Striking Poses. Was awake till 3 one morning reading, because I couldn’t wait to see how it ended.

Having just finished Striking Poses in the car while my boyfriend drove. I noted the webpage address and, two minutes after arriving home, am sitting here, now, writing to you.  I will transpose the, "Loved this book, loved, loved this book," thank you note into a longer missive and zap it across the Continental US, over the Atlantic to you.

I'm very new to your books. I have just read Striking Poses and have started A Perfect Life. Striking Poses was definitely the best book I have ever read. The characters were totally amazing. I intend on reading all of your books - THANK YOU SO MUCH - PLEASE KEEP WRITING

I became a huge fan of your work after reading a copy of More Mischief last December and have gone to read more of your books. I adore the Mischief books, but I also have a soft spot for another fabulous novel of yours - Striking Poses. I just love your books and always look forward to reading a new book from you. I love the fact that you get great characters, plenty of drama, fun and intrigue and I can never put any of your books down! Your evocative descriptions of Ireland have made me want to visit as well and I hope to visit your beautiful country in the near future!
